I hope this year is off to a great start for you and your family. I want to keep you
informed as much as possible so that the students can talk further with you if they
don’t understand an issue. If you have any questions or concerns, I would be glad to

Please read over the class rules, behavior expectations, late-work policy, disciplinary
policy and grading policy with your student then sign it and have your child bring it
back to me so I know you are aware of what is required and what we are covering. I
look forward to working with your child and hope that they will gain information
that will prove to be very beneficial to them and maybe even you.
How it Works
 Health 9 weeks and PE 9 weeks
 2 nine weeks grades are averaged together for the final semester grade
 Required for graduation

 Homework-25%
 Quizzes-20%
 Tests-40%
Classroom Behavior
*Students are to arrive on time, come into class quietly and take their seat.
*All students are expected to be quiet and attentive to the teacher when instruction
is being given.
* Raise your hand if you have a question or comment.
* Bring your supplies to class. You are responsible for your own belongings. If you
forget something, either go without or take a tardy to go to your locker.
* The room and its furnishings are to be treated with respect.
* Students are to treat the teacher and classmates with respect. This includes, but
not limited to:
Participating properly in class discussion
Following directions the first time they are given
Being considerate of others
*** You do not leave class without the teacher’s permission.
Disciplinary Policy
 Students having difficulty following the behavior expectations will be given
ONE warning.
 2nd offense-detention
Homework/Late Work Policy
*All assignments are expected to be turned in the day they are due. Any late work
may be turned in 1 day late for half credit (50). After this, a grade of zero (0) will be
given.
*Absences: you will have within 5 days to make up your work. YOU WILL BE
HELD RESPONSIBLE TO FIND OUT WHAT ASSIGNMENTS YOU MISSED.
* Any graded work that is not make up during the nine week grading period will be
recorded as a zero(0).
* Students should hold on to all graded assignments until report cards have been
received, in case of an error.

NO WHINING!!! Though you may not realize it now, education is a privilege and a

Please look over these guidelines with a parent. You, your Parent(s), and I will enter
into this agreement as a team. If we all work together, this year will hold many
blessings. Have students bring the signed paper back to me within one week.
