Description of Business Environment:
This is a Lockheed Martin (LM) International Accounting position within the Enterprise
Business Services (EBS) business unit and based in the United Kingdom (UK). It
includes working in a small customer focused EBS accounting team that provides a
variety of accounting services for the UK EBS (HR, Ethics, EESH, Communications, IT)
and the Enterprise Operations (EO) areas. The position is expected to successfully
manage multiple, simultaneous assignments,deadlines, priorities and tasks.
Responsibilities consistently require the utilization of generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP),effective analysis techniques, communication and coordination with
team members and service firms in multiple time zones and countries, and a level of
independent organization and prioritization of responsibilities is expected. This position
supports other financial services duties as assigned.
Specific Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
•
Analysing accounting issues
•
Audit process support
•
Journal entries and ensuring proper recording of payroll, fringe, insurances, rents,
pre-paids, liabilities and other expenses.
•
Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable and billings processes are working
as intended. Supplying appropriate backup to Business Units
•
Ensuring appropriate cost allocation and proper distribution to cost objects.
•
Monthly closing processes
•
Financial & Tax reporting support
•
Budget reporting and budget to actual variance analysis queries
•
Responsbility for Banking transfers and ad hoc payments
•
Ensuring miscellaneous cash is applied and bank accounts monitored.
•
Ensuring timely clearance of suspense and deferred amounts, international IBS
tables are properly maintained and timely uploads of billing activity
•
Proactive and diligent support to other team members
•
Preparing account reconciliations

Working towards degree in Accounting, or associated Finance / Business
discipline

Demonstrated experience / interest in accounting and finance

Demonstrated experience performing detailed analysis and interpreting data

Demonstrated experience performing tasks requiring application of GAAP
Standard Job Description:
Participates in a structured cooperative educational/work program between the company
and a college/university, and enrolled in an accredited degree program directly related to
skills required by the company. Performs assigned tasks in administrative disciplines
(e.g., Finance, Human Resources, Contracts, Production Planning, Facilities
Administration).
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically
achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with
equivalent experience / combined education.
