Description of Business Environment:
The Programme Office Trainee is responsible for conducting and supporting Programme
Office activities that include the management of schedule adherence, financial status, risk
mitigation progress, variance analyses, baseline configuration control, and associated
business rhythm processes.
Specific Job Description:
 Support the development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and
the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the programme(s) assigned under the
direct of the schedules lead
 Support WPMs / CAM with schedule updates:
o Elicitation of activity and dependency data from team specialists.
o Tracking and reporting of schedule progress.
o Provision of schedule data to team members.
 Support the lead in ensuring that the IMS and supporting schedules are inclusive of
all relevant Lockheed Martin, Vendor and Customer activities and that the
dependencies are fully integrated and current.
 Provide support to Vendor and Customer schedule development, including
leading/facilitating schedule workshops and providing schedule advice and
expertise.
 Support Earned Value planning, development and maintenance.
 Provide support to metrics development and maintenance, including monthly
provision and presentation of Programme Management Leading Indicators.
 Support Schedule Risk Analysis, including:
o Compiling all 3 point estimates from CAMs and implementing in the Risk
Schedule.
o Running the Monte Carlo analysis and creating detailed analysis of the
results.
 Support the Programme Office Directive (POD) management process, including:
o Process maintenance and template creation.
o Provide leadership and oversight of Control Account Work Authorisation
and implementation of internal re-planning to ensure process is adhered to.
o Provide assistance, advice and expertise on complex issues.
o Provide final approval of budget changes in COBRA after POD action
implementation.

Provide schedule support to Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to ensure
changes can be integrated into the Programme and on contract award ensure a
smooth transition into the Programme.
Required Skills:
 Strong analytical skills
 Good communicator
 A foundation in physics or maths
 Strong inter-personal skills indicating an aptitude for independence and leadership
combined with ability for working in a team environment. A self-starter.
This vacancy requires all successful candidates to be processed for a HM Government
security clearance, which stipulates, at a minimum, that the applicant must have been a
resident in the UK for at least the last five years.
Desirable Skills:
 Knowledge of additional functional areas such as engineering, manufacturing and
production control would be an advantage
 Familiarity with Microsoft Office and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Standard Job Description:
Participates in a structured cooperative educational/work program between the company
and a college/university, and enrolled in an accredited degree program directly related to
skills required by the company. Performs assigned tasks in administrative disciplines (e.g.,
Finance, Human Resources, Contracts, Production Planning, Facilities Administration).
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Working towards a Bachelors degree with an accredited college and capability typically
achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with
equivalent experience / combined education.
