The goal of this project is to understand the mechanical
properties of SOP locking plate implants in order to develop
a chart that will present optimum screw locations based on
cost, strength, and stiffness.
Key Features:

Understanding the mechanical properties of SOP
locking plate implants will aid in the treatment of
leg fractures in small dogs
•
The identification of an optimum screw
configuration will provide a standard for surgeons
while also reducing costs
Deliverables:

Determine mechanical properties of implant for
three different screw configurations
•
Create surgical guideline identifying optimum
screw configuration based on various mechanical
parameters
