This newsletter will help you to understand how second gra
develop reading strategies, as well as provide tips on how you can
help your child become a fluent, well rounded reader.
Some children are just learning to read, while others
others can read
books by themselves.
Second Graders are interested in books with puns, jokes, and
riddles. They like to read nature stories, stories about real
children, and stories with a happy ending.
Parents can help their child to become a better reader by
reading and listening to them read daily.
Parents can talk about story characters and events, and also
encourage their child to express their opinions and ideas about
the story.
Doing things,
things, such as going to the park, library, or grocery
store, cooking together,
together, and outdoor activities with your child,
and talking about your experiences, are very beneficial for your
child.
Help your child to choose appropriate books at the library or
bookstore.
The more children read the better readers they will become.
become.
When children read on a consistent basis, they will become
better at understanding what they are reading. They will also
become more fluent. They will begin to read quickly because
they recognize more words.
When children get better at reading, they will want to read
more because they are more confident in their abilities.
By reading, children have fun and learn about the world.
Thank you!
