1.2 Preliminary Semiannual Uniform Crime Report, January–June, 2006, Set for

Release

In the past, the FBI has sent law enforcement agencies advance hard copies of the Preliminary

Semiannual Uniform Crime Report, January–June, 2006, so that agencies would have the information before the data were released to the public. Because this document will no longer be published in hard copy, the FBI had to devise an alternate way for agencies to have advance access to the information. Consequently, the FBI has constructed a beta site for the Preliminary Semiannual

Uniform Crime Report, January–June, 2006, to which agencies will have access. The Web site, username, and password are case sensitive.

Advance Viewing Date: Beginning Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Web site: http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/prelim06/

Username: UCRcontr

Password: Prelim06

Public Release Date: Monday, December 18, 2006

State UCR Program managers are asked to make all law enforcement agencies in their state—especially Most-in-Population agencies—aware of this information. All agencies are reminded that these data are embargoed until they are released to the public. Until then, they are for internal use only.
