DR HELEN GRECH
Dr Grech is a senior lecturer and the co-ordinator of the Communication Therapy
Division at the Institute of Health Care. She has been invited as visiting lecturer at Ain
Shams University, Cairo, Egypt; Catholic University, Leuven, Belgium; Fontys
Hogeschool. Eindhoven, The Netherlands; Göteborg University, Sweden; Huddinge
University Hospital, Sweden; Institut Libre Marie Haps, Brussels, Belgium; KHBO,
Brugge, Belgium; Lessius Hogeschool, Antwerp, Belgium; University of Oulu, Finland;
and the University of Catania, Sicily. During the past 8 years Dr Grech also gave
keynote speeches during the Intensive Programme organised by the European SpeechLanguage Network.
Dr Grech worked as an expert Evaluator for the EC in Brussels and in Malta. She is a
practising educational audiologist and speech-language pathologist. Dr Grech is the
Secretary of the Board of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics.
She serves on the editorial Board of peer reviewed journals and is a member of several
international learned societies.
Dr Grech was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship and an Individual Mobility Grant by the
EC, under Tempus Programme. She is Malta’s representative on the Management
Committees of COST Actions A33 and ISO804 and is involved as partner in other
European projects. She has several publications in international and local scientific
journals.
