GRIDiant Unveils Smart Grid Management Software at DistribuTECH
GRIDmaster software suite improves reliability, intelligence and performance of the electric power grid
TAMPA, Fla. (March 24, 2010) — GRIDiant Corporation, specializing in smart grid software
management, officially launched its GRIDmaster suite of software products and services to the power
distribution market at DistribuTECH, the leading transmission and distribution conference in Tampa,
Florida. Additionally, GRIDiant has received a patent for its GRIDfast optimization engine that performs
real-time analysis, control, optimization and management of the electric power grid. The company has a
patent pending on its virtual grid component health calculation technology.
“We spent several years perfecting our enterprise-class software for advanced grid management with
seven utility companies and we’re very pleased with the GRIDmaster suite,” said Larry Hagewood,
GRIDiant CEO. “This is the first non-linear application to offer this level of intelligence in real-time and I
am excited to introduce it to the smart grid market. In particular, the GRIDcare application inside
GRIDmaster will allow utilities to continuously monitor the health of all distribution grid components such
as transformers and capacitors for the status of their performance, and we can do this without adding
expensive measurement hardware to these devices.”
The GRIDmaster software suite is comprised of eight applications, including GRIDlink, GRIDfast,
GRIDrecord, GRIDview, GRIDcare, GRIDplan, GRIDops, and GRIDassets as well as GRIDmodeling, a
package of professional services to support the software applications. A number of power and utility
companies are already using GRIDfast to achieve maximum performance from their grids.
“We selected GRIDfast to interface with our Energynet Process Simulator because it is a truly superior
product for advanced grid performance improvement and we want to provide a reliable and efficient
control system for our customers. The return on investment for this type of system is just extraordinary,”
said Peter Evans, president of New Power Technologies.
Currently, GRIDiant partners with IBM, KEMA and New Power Technologies to supply complementary
services such as system integration, program management and integrated grid performance.
