2. COURSE DESCRIPTION
ENGLISH COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course examines aspects related to information and
communication technologies. It shed light on several elements
such as, computers (software and hardware), digital information
(E-books, and E-journals), and communication technologies
(Information networks).
The course also highlights the
implications of these new technologies on services provided by
information centers.

1. Identify the major concepts related to information and communication
technologies.
2. Identify the new techniques reflections on the reality of work and services of
information institutions.
3. Identify concepts related to electronic publishing and train students how to
publish electronically.
5. COURSE INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students after completing all the course requirements and assessments will be
aware of the major concepts related to information and communication
technologies and the reflection of new technologies on the reality of work and
services of information institutions. Students will also understand the concepts
related to electronic publishing and train students how to publish electronically.

9. COURSE RULES
Attendance
Attendance at class is mandatory. Course Instructors should keep attendance records. An
"absentee warning notice" will be issued if a student is absent for:
• More than 10% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 5% in courses with 75 or more total contact hours.
An "absentee withdrawal notice" will be issued and the student will be deemed to have
withdrawn from the course with an 'FW' grade if a student is absent for:
• More than 20% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 15% in courses with 75 to 150 total contact hours.
• More than 10% of total contact hours for courses with more than 150 total
contact hours.
