Welcome Home!
Waving flags and welcome home signs, 16 COD Cares
Action Heroes greeted 86 WWII veterans who landed on
Honor Flight Chicago at Midway Airport in late July. The
Heroes joined ranks with more than 2,500 family members,
friends and well-wishers to welcome home and thank
members of the Greatest Generation. Click here for more
photos and click here to learn how Multimedia Services
producer and director Kevin Willman contributes to this
important veterans organization.
Up, Up and Away
Recently, the College of DuPage EMT program received a
visit from the Superior Ambulance Medical Helicopter and crew
stationed out of DuPage Airport in West Chicago. The medical
helicopter landed on the west side of campus in the open area
behind the new Homeland Security Training Center (HTC).
Seventy summer EMT students received an in-depth look at
the medical helicopter and had great interaction with the pilot
and crew. Click here for a Multimedia Services video of the
medical helicopter crew conducting its take off, flyover, landing
and presentation to the students. Kudos to Fire Science/EMT
Manager Dan Krakora and EMT instructor Joe Gilles who
coordinated the visit.

delighted to be able to serve Illinois in this new role after

ACDA have given me and my students so much during my
career.” Read More
New Student Trustee Gloria Roark
Aurora resident and new Student Trustee Gloria Roark takes
pride in providing a voice for College of DuPage. “I enjoy
hearing from students, faculty members and staff regarding
their input on the many facets of the College,” Roark said. “To
have the power to say and do something in response to their
comments is so humbling to me.” Roark was initially
approached to consider a position on the Student Leadership
Council. She looked into running for either SLC President or
Student Trustee and was drawn to the latter position. “Being
the Student Trustee allows me to have greater involvement
with the larger issues at the College. It’s a great learning
experience.” Read More
