BRAD’S CORNER
A few words
about the
ISSO and how
our growth is
about you and
your success.
Martha and I
are working
together to
provide the
best and most
responsible information and guidance
we can to prospective students, their
families, and their trusted advisers.
We are making more connections
around the world and, in the long
term, this will mean more and better
classmates, networking and lifelong
friends for each of you. Melissa and
I are collaborating with the goal of
enhancing services and support for
current students. In this vein, look
for announcements on new and
enhanced programing on academic,
professional and personal matters.
Telitha works with all three of us in
the critical role of ensuring all who
interact with the ISSO are heard and
answered. These are big changes and
this is very much a learning process
for each of us, especially me. We all
have a lot to do and I am proud of the
ISSO team. Thanks for your patience
and support.
Looking ahead: we need your help to
take ISSO and UW-Stevens Point to
the next level. More on that next time.

STUDENT PROFILE
Mostafa ALABED
I’m a sophomore and majoring in
Health Care Administration with a
minor in Business Administration. I
came all the way from the east side
of Saudi Arabia, from a small island
called “Tarout.” I’ve been here, in
Stevens Point, for almost 2 years, and
since then, I’ve been exploring new
things every day. I haven’t had any
trouble being part of this community
as I thought I would have. I just
was afraid of not being accepted
in here as an international student.
However, it was totally the opposite.
I’ve been helped since the first day
I came to Point. I was impressed by
the kindness, the friendliness and
gentleness of people, the willingness
to help anyone that needs help. And
right now, I am part of this family,
Point family.

to encourage me and offered me
many opportunities to accomplish
these much achievements till today.
It made me special, unique and
professional educator. Stevens Point
is a great wonderful place to focus
on study, the community is friendly
and welcoming people, especially
foreigners. That is important for us
who are international students to
study and live in Stevens Point. It is
not like Madison or Chicago, we are
the smaller community but we love
each other like a big family.”
Her favorite quote: "Wise people
learn music, wild people play music."
