Justification:
Why is this position necessary?
Administrative assistant will answer phones, file, generate PAF's and budget forms, and take minutes
at the 5 meetings that the VP chairs/co-chairs.
What educational programs or institutional purposes does this position support? How does the request
relate specifically to your Program Review, the College’s Strategic Plan, and/or Accreditation Recommendations?
The Administrative Assistant will support a high volume office that services eight Deans. This position
will assist with the preparation for accreditation requirements.
Where will the individual work? To whom will the person report? Are there any special equipment/facilities needs
to be considered?
This Administrative Assistant will work in the Academic Services office and will report to the Vice
President of Academic Services. This position will require a desktop computer.
What is the consequence of not funding this position?
The consequences of not funding this position can result in accreditation needs, department and
campus deadlines not being met, and special projects not being completed with accuracy or timely
due to time restraints of the high volume workload of the Executive Assistant and Academic Services
office.
What alternative approaches have been considered in meeting the programmatic demands of this request?
Student Assistants have been utilized to assist with some of the programmatic demands of this
request.
How will the campus community (students, staff, faculty, and community) be positively impacted by filling this
position?
This position will provide support to the Executive Administrative Assistant of Academic Services
assure completion of department needs. To support the Academic Services Deans with special
projects, facilities needs, and request forms. To assist faculty with operation of student survey scantron
machines. The Administrative Assistant will be first point of contact to greet and assist all staff and
students entering Academic Services office. This position will also assist the staff development
committee and presidents office with preparation of New staff orientation and flex days.
What other personnel currently provide support to this program and these students?
Academic Services has one Executive Assistant.
