 Check criteria and required GPA in major prep courses for each UC.
 Enter EVERY course taken at a college or university on to online TAG form. This includes nontransferable courses, courses for which you earned a D or F or Incomplete. Enter all courses
you repeated. Enter AR for Academic Renewal only if you’ve been granted “academic
renewal”. If course not found on list, add manually. Enter grades as your see it on your
transcript (e.g. A, B, D, D, F, Pass, Not Pass, Credit, No Credit, AR for Academic Renewal, I, In
Progress, Planned, etc.)
 Check for gaps in education, (especially from date of H.S. graduation to first semester in

 In the "UC TAG Submission Checklist" section, a student must agree to the following statement
or their TAG application cannot move forward, "I understand that all calculations of my GPA
and UC-transferable units are preliminary.
 Make an appointment with a counselor in General Counseling, EOPS or ASPIRE (if you are a

also drop-in at a UC TAG Clinic. Check/Visit the Career & Transfer Center for session dates.
 Complete TAG and remember to submit by September 30th, 2015.
 Check email end of October or beginning of November for notifications from the UCs
regarding TAG approval status. Students will hear from each UC to which they have

 In January 2015 you will be contacted by the UCs to update your UC General application.
You will update application with your Fall 2015 grades and your planned Spring 2016 schedule.
 If you are completing IGETC and are going to use your high school classes to meet the
Language other than English requirement (2 years of high school foreign language completed
with a grade C or higher) submit official high school transcripts to the office of Admission &
Records at Chabot. Go to your high school district office to request official transcripts.
Chabot will need to receive transcripts by the end of Spring 2016.
 If you will be completing IGETC, remember to petition for IGETC certification in the Office of
Admission & Records at Chabot College. You will need to petition for this after you have
decided which UC to attend as Chabot College will only send your IGETC certification to the
school you will be attending.
 Plan to send official transcripts from all colleges previously attending to the UC you decide to
attend. Chabot College does not combine transcripts from other colleges so you will need to
request official transcripts directly from the schools previously attended and have them sent
directly to the UC campus that you will be attending.
 Plan to attend the Transfer Recognition Ceremony at Chabot College in May 2016. Visit the
Career & Transfer Center or CTC webpage in Spring 2016 for time and date.
Preparation for your UC TAG appointment:
 Read the TAG criteria for EACH UC that you are interested in applying to before you begin
your online TAG application. The criteria vary widely from UC to UC. You can the specifics for
each UC TAG at www.chabotcollege.edu/Counseling/TECS/UCTAG.asp
 Start your online TAG application BEFORE coming to your counseling appointment. Complete
as many steps of the online TAG application as you can BEFORE your appointment.
o Be sure to enter in EVERY course ever completed at any college you have attending,
even non- transferable courses, F grades, repeated courses, courses that have been
academically renewed, PE, etc.
 Have unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended with you when you start your online TAG
application, do not work from memory. Bring all transcripts with you to your TAG appointment.
 If there has been a gap in your education, please explain what you were doing during that
time on the UC TAG application. This is not a reason to deny you, the UCs are simply looking
for an explanation.
 If you have completed any AP tests in high school, please enter those tests and scores on the
UC TAG application.
We appreciate you coming prepared to your TAG appointment.
