DESCRIPTION:
Social Services has an immediate opening for an Income Maintenance Caseworker III. This
position performs a wide range of tasks in the eligibility determination/redetermination
process which requires an in-depth knowledge of all public assistance programs and
functional processes.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Determines clients’ need and eligibility for human services programs and assists clients in
accessing and retaining public assistance benefits.
Interviews clients and/or collateral contacts to gather information, secure medical, work
history, and other income information, and determines the need and eligibility for human
services.
Follows policies and procedures related to eligibility determination. Uses information
technology to determine eligibility, record notes, and manage records.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
m Requirements:




Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s
degree in social work or a related field; or an associate’s degree in social
services, human services, or a related field and two years of experience
determining eligibility in public assistance programs; or graduation from high
school and four years of experience determining eligibility in public assistance
programs.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated
interest in human services. Must be comfortable using a variety of IT software
and equipment, including scanners.
Experience determining eligibility for Adult Medicaid programs preferred.
Bilingual applicants fluent in English and Spanish encouraged to apply.
