An employee in this class supervises a range of adult, family, and children's services
programs with direct involvement in operational matters as well as short and long range
planning of program services. Work includes evaluating the quality of services and
ensuring compliance with standards; and providing major input on organizational
changes, personnel, and budget issues. Work is performed independently under the
director's supervision and is evaluated by observation, in discussions, and through review
of reports and case records; may include acting in the director's absence.
