Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
Anthropology is the study of humankind in all times and places. Ball State has offered a major and minor
in anthropology for many years and provides instruction in four subcategories of the field: archaelogy,
cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and linguistics. In addition to the formal courses of
instruction, the anthropology department also provides students with a number of extra-curricular
activities and opportunities including internships, field studies, an anthropology club, and study abroad
opportunities.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes files from the Department of Anthropology at Ball State University ranging from
1965 to 1988 regarding lecture series pamphlets, archaeological reports, planning documents, Museum
of Anthropology booklets, field school session brochures, and Department of Anthropology promotional
materials.
