Features

ERHAVIT FA is an amine-free liquid product based on specially selected
reductive substances.
Handling & storage:
Wear goggles and gloves during handling and close the container firmly
after use. Slight sedimentation can occur during storage but this does not
impair product performance.
Can be stored for about 1 year (from date of production) if kept between
10°C and 25°C. In any case, protect from cold below -10°C and from heat
above 30°C. If exposed to the cold, bring in to a warm place and stir
before use.

Better cleaning: Imparts a very good grain-cleaning effect by removing
hair roots, seasonal fine hair and blood stains.

Better cutting-yield: Improves lay-out and increases area yield by
gently und uniformly opening up hide structure, reducing swelling and
neck and belly draw formed during the liming process.
•
Ecological: Amine-free product, especially suitable for the Hair-Save
liming process and for processes with reduced amounts of sulphides.
•
Shorter liming times: Accelerates the diffusion of the liming chemicals,
thus helping to shorten liming times.
For complete hair removal in liming, soaking is best done with PELLVIT®
combined with BORRON® DL to keep the hair free of grease. This
preparation is best followed in a separate bath by a Hair-Save liming
process with 1.0 – 1.5% ERHAVIT ® FA (calculated on salted or fresh hide
weight). ERHAVIT ® FA is added undiluted 20 – 30 min before the lime, for
immunisation.
ERHAVIT ® FA might be used in a hair burn liming process as well. In that
case it is best applied 20 – 30 min before the other liming and unhairing
chemicals.
If the hair is greasy it is best applied together with 0.1% of an anionic
surfactant like BORRON® A or BORRON® SAF to emulsify the grease
allowing a better immunisation and a better accessibility of the hair root.
The quantity of ERHAVIT ® FA required depends on the desired reduction
of sodium sulfide or sodium sulfhydrate. Generally larger quantities result
in a higher yield in area, faster and better hair removal and improved
quality.
