The DCE Accelerates Performance Testing
The innovative DCE is a small-footprint channel-emulation platform that helps device
makers ensure that their DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS products deliver optimum
performance in the field. At its core, the DCE simulates a real-time cable network
between the cable-modem termination system (CMTS) and customer-premises
equipment (CPE), such as set-top boxes, residential gateways, and cable modems.
The DCE’s flexible FPGA-based design is powered by the NI vector signal transceiver
(VST), which greatly expands test coverage, lowers latency, and extends bandwidth
and frequency range while minimizing the DCE hardware footprint.
Preloaded with an expandable library of industry-specified impairments like
microreflections and phase noise, the DCE helps users ensure that their
equipment meets standards such as the SCTE 40 specification.
