Asking and answering questions works the similar
in Spanish as it does in English. The thing to
remember in Spanish is that you don’t always have
to have a subject pronoun present to know who the
question is for.
Example: ¿Hablas español?
We know means “Do you speak Spanish?

You can easily create a question buy using just a
form of a verb. Whenever you see a question that
begins with a verb, you can immediately think to
add the word “do” in front for your translation.
See if these make sense:
¿Pasas tiempo con amigos? (Do you spend time
with friends?)
¿Montas en bicicleta? (Do you ride a bike?)

When answering questions it can be more difficult.
You have to know the subject of the question.
If the subject of the question is “tú” or “Ud.” then
you are going to have to give an answer to the
question with “yo”.
Example: ¿Hablas por teléfono? (Do you talk on the
phone)
Sí, hablo por teléfono (Yes I talk on the
phone)

Example: ¿Monta en monopatín Ud? (Do you ride a
skateboard?)
Sí, monto en monopatín (Yes I ride a
skateboard)
Also if the question has “Uds.” as the subject or any
other form of “Uds.” the answer must be with
“nosotros”
Example: ¿Bailan Uds.? (Do you all dance?)
Sí, bailamos. (Yes we dance).
