The Mentoring Committee shall be composed of a chair and as many members as necessary to accomplish the goals and
responsibilities of the committee. It shall be the duty of the Mentoring Committee to create and manage a program to
help members develop and reach their own potential through mentoring. The Mentoring chair is a voting member of the
Board of Directors, and reports to the VP of Programs. Provide leadership and program expertise to develop and
maintain a beneficial, high-quality Mentoring Program for members.
Details:












Solicit Mentors and Mentees to participate in the program.
Provide information at member meetings and through other media to acquaint members with the program.
Provide Mentor and Mentee training to set expectations and build mentoring skills.
Match Mentors and Mentees based on Mentee needs and areas of interest as described in a Mentee
Questionnaire with Mentor experience and areas of interest as described in a Mentor Questionnaire.
Contact the Mentor and Mentee two months after a match has been made to confirm the relationship is off to a
good start.
Conduct a program survey of Mentors and Mentees after completion of the expected one-year commitment to
document program success and plan for future program improvements.
Provide periodic support activities and events to further the Mentor-Mentee relationships and benefits, such as
monthly mentoring tips and an annual mentoring event.
Collaborate with PR Chair to send all press releases, and Newsletter Chair/Website Chair for newsletter and
calendar announcements.
Collaborate with the Secretary to send event invites to members through the Constant Contact event planning
account.
Collaborate and communicate with VP Programs
Collaborate with the Finance Chair and Treasurer to create a proposed financial/business plan and outline to
track all money transactions related to any mentoring event.
Responsible for updating the Mid-Day website for mentor events (“Awards & Programs” / “Mentoring”)
Possible changes for the future:
With the successful conclusion of the pilot program in 2010-2011, it is expected that the Mentoring Program will
continue to grow and provide member benefit.
