Language/English Interpreting field and are developed in collaboration with faculty,
focusing on commitment to quality and student centered instruction. Teaching occurs in
conjunction with other academic support services, student recruitment, screening, and

2011 Research Action Study: Within a Video Interpreting Course, can ASL be used as the
language of instruction to guide students toward achieving the learning outcomes of the course?
Paper submitted to faculty upon completion of degree as evidence of achieving programmatic
goals. Working with IJIE Editorial staff on future publication.
2012 Research Action Study: How to create a natural critical learning environment within the
interpreting classroom by applying the seven principles of effective instruction from Ken Bain’s
work, “What the Best College Teachers Do” (2004). Research results were reported at the
Conference of Interpreter Trainers Conference October, 2012.
