Catalog hours are based on unit amounts from Program and Course Approval Handbook (PCAH)
http://curriculum.cccco.edu/pcah_032009.pdf
College’s may have exceptions to PCAH where unit values have higher catalog hours (e.g. EXER, MATH, ACE) and
are approved by the State
All course unit and catalog hours are listed in the printed Catalog and Datatel COFF screen
A section must be scheduled to meet the course’s catalog hours at the minimum.
Labs have very high catalog hours with low unit values.
Zero unit sections are not allowed for apportionment.
Catalog hours based on 16 week semester.
Student Attendance Accounting Manual (SAAM) recommended contact hours from SAAM Addendum:
http://www.cccco.edu/Portals/4/CFFP/Fiscal/Allocations/manuals/SAAM_Compressed_Calendar_and_Course_S
cheduling_Addendum_FINAL_9-18-08.pdf
SAAM maximum catalog hours based on (TLM x [SAAM Recommended Contact])
NOTE: Daily [D} sections may have contact hours larger than the SAAM recommended because the number of meetings
determine overall hours for the semester.
