Back to big picture
Human knowledge is limited, at each era of human
history, there exist different crisis that human faces.
Crisis in this era
• Climate Change
–  Green Energy
• Energy Depletion
–  Renewable Energy
These concerns were not mentioned when I was
a college student.
 The key of human success is that each of you
learned the basic science and push the human
knowledge boundaries to meet the human
society’s needs.
Goal of this course
Each of you learn the materials in the text book,
both conceptually and mathematically.
 Team work – “Build-&-Attack Quizzes”
 Establish interests on scientific development –
“Scientific News Reading”

Goal of this course – possibly your version

Get necessary credit hours (with high grade) to get your
Bachelor degree.

Discussion Sections: Discuss selected questions and group work on Build-&-Attack
Quizzes
Build-and-Attack Quizzes:
Build Quiz by teams  Attack Quiz by individuals
Points you can get:
•Build Points: # unsolved students/ total students * 100 (earned by each member of your
team)
•Attack Points: Each quiz solved worth: 100 / # solved students (earned by each student
who successful solved the quiz)
•Design Award: Vote for most enjoyable quiz. The most enjoyable quiz earns 50 points to
the Build Points.
•Build Points: 2%; Attack Points: 3% (combined to be 5%) of total grade
