1763- Treaty of Paris- ended French and Indian War and
kicked France out of North America
1763- Proclamation of 1763- British said American Colonists
were not allowed to settle West
of Appalachian Mts.
1765- Stamp Act- Taxed legal documents, newspapers,
almanacs playing cards ect. American
Colonists boycotted and it was repealed
1767- Townshend Act- taxed glass, paper, paint, and tea
American Colonists signed agreements
not to import British goods

March 5, 1770- Boston Massacre Fight between British
Soldiers and American Colonists, British troops fire on
Colonists and 5 Colonists are killed
1773- The Tea Act- Law that cut out the American Colonist
merchants in the tea trade
December 16, 1773- Boston Tea Party- Colonists dump
dump British tea into Boston Harbor as a protest of the
Tea Act.

1774- Intolerable Acts- Laws that punish Mass. For Boston
Tea Party- Boston Port Act, Mass Government Act,
Administration of Justice Act, Quartering Act and the
Quebec Act
September 1774- First Continental Congress in Philadelphia
agreed to boycott British goods and not to export
goods to Britain, organize and train militia
April 1775- Battles of Lexington and Concord- “The shot
heard ‘round the world” battles between British troops
and the minutemen.
