Reggae
• Reggae was founded in Jamaica in the 1960’s by
a company called island records.
• The main instruments are; Bass guitar, horns,
clavinet, organ, bingo’s and the drums.
Pop
• Pop first coined around the middle 1920’s, in
Great Britain.
• It consists of a piano, guitar, drums, electric
organs, keyboards, electric organs, cymbals
and a polyphonic tape playback keyboard.
Samba
•
normally consists of tambourines,
snare drums, agogo bells, surdos,
ganzas(shakers), cuica, panderio, repinique
and the apito
• The apito is commonly used for the signal to

Acappella

is where you make music with
only your mouth, it was founded by Keith
Lancaster in 1982.
• There are four different pitches your voice
could be and they are soprano, alto, tenor
and bass.

instrumental accompaniment, or a piece of
music supposed to be performed in this way.
Duet
• A duet is composed of two musicians
performing together either of the same
instrument/vocals or different
instruments/vocals.
