Reproductive system unit plan

advertisement
Step 1: Participate in three TEDEd lessons.
Lesson 1: The Reproductive System: How Gonads Go
Lesson 2: Male Reproductive System
Lesson 3: Female Reproductive System
Step 2: Create an Infographic
Create a digital infographic about:
1. The path that sperm takes from creation to ejaculation
2. The path of an oocyte from maturation until it leaves the body (as a baby and/or during
menstruation)
Recommended tool:
I recommend http://www.easel.ly/ though any digital infographic tool is fine
Posting (in LMS discussion):
Please post your infographic as a separate post.
Once done, please comment on two other student's infographic. Please tell them what works
about their infographic, what makes the infographic easy to read and understand.
Evaluation:
You will be evaluated on:
Infographic: Inclusion of key information, Pathway flow, Overall presentation, legibility,
creativity
Comments: Number of comments, thoroughness
Step 3: Concept map
Assignment:
1. Create a concept map about one component of the reproductive system (see below to
determine which portion you are doing)
A few suggested digital mind-mapping sites are: https://coggle.it/, https://bubbl.us/, or
http://mind42.com/
2. Submit your concept map to the LMS drop-box.
3. Bring a copy of your concept map to class on Tuesday. You will be working with members of
your group to create a larger concept map in-class involving all four topics. The rubric for how
the group concept map will be marked can be found under "Assessment & Evaluation" and
choose "Rubrics". You will see the one for the reproductive system concept map.
Concept map topics
Topic 1: Hormones, Hormone pathway, and Hormone effects of the female reproductive system
Topic 2: Hormones, Hormone pathway, and Hormone effects of the male reproductive system
Topic 3: The Ovarian & Uterine Cycle
Topic 4: The organs of the male & female reproductive system and their function (try to have a
logical pathway)
