Molecular Evolution The processes of molecular evolution must be understood in order to make sense of the structure of the human genome, and many aspects of human genetic diseases. This lecture will cover the common types of mutation and how natural selection determines which changes are preserved. The role of gene duplication in facilitating evolution will also be discussed.
