Alan Chen (President/Vice President) I am applying to be president/vice president because I would like to give back to a program that has helped me. As a freshman, I had never heard of FBLA until around December, but thought that I might try it out this year. I almost did not join, but a couple of friends convinced me to try the club. I do not regret that decision, and I thank my friends. Because I am involved in many other clubs, I can spread the FBLA message. I went to the State Leadership Conference this year, and it was very enjoyable. I met new interesting people. I learned a lot from the workshops, and I am excited for the National Leadership Conference later this year, especially for the learning from the presenters. I wish to bring these experiences to others of our school, and that is why I am running for president/vice president. Through the new experiences I have gained or will gain, I feel I am qualified to be an officer. Nathan Hong (President/Vice President) The reason why I am applying for an officer position is pretty simple, I have had a great time during my short career in the FBLA club. I have learned loads of information about how to run this club and about business in general during this time frame. Also I have had an enormous amount of fun while being in the club. As an officer, I want to make sure that the club is managed appropriately and most importantly, everyone has a good time! Why would you be in a club that is no fun for you. However, the one thing that could be improved is the fundraising. This year's fundraising was good, but we can make it better. I am qualified to run this club, because I love to communicate with others, I know a lot of business subject matter, and also it does not hurt that I ranked 1st in the state for Spreadsheet Application. Communication is one of the only ways we can improve the FBLA club. I love communication; I thrive on it, and with everyone's input we can make the club better. Together, we can make the FBLA club a fun and exciting experience for everyone. Eleni Latsios (President/Vice President) FBLA is an amazing club that helps students reach their goals of becoming future business leaders of America. This is all made possible by the teachers and student representatives who help lead this club. In running for Vice President of FBLA, I am promising to make changes to benefit the students and the club. I would promise to take this position seriously, and dedicate time in getting the word out about FBLA, and to also come up with new ideas to advance the club. I have participated in many other business endeavors before, and FBLA would be one that I would be proud to serve in. Please consider voting for me as Vice President, and know that I would commit to this, and take everyone’s suggestions and do things to further the club. Thank You. Swathi Raman (President/Vice President) FBLA has served as an excellent opportunity for students to shine in their passion, while still socializing with others and attending beneficial events, such as the Regional and State Leadership conferences. I have fortunately been a participant in this organization since my freshmen year and have increased my dedication towards this club. For example, I have received the ‘Future’ Level of the Business Achievement Awards, which was given to students of only 13 schools in all of Pennsylvania. I have also served as the 2011-2012 Vice President of Garnet Valley High School’s chapter. This year, I am running for President because I can lead Garnet Valley’s esteemed chapter to greater heights at the Regional and State levels. I want to increase our student membership and increase overall participation in the club by coordinating more events for charities and other fundraisers. I plan to involve our student body with FBLA events and meetings so that our club can achieve greater heights and set new standards for itself. I have the necessary experience from serving as your officer last year and plan to continue my leadership and commitment into the future. Vote for Swathi Raman as your 2012-2013 President of FBLA! Angela He (Secretary) As secretary, I want to involve FBLA in more activities/fundraisers that would reach out to the rest of the school & continue all of the work that has been put into the club already. I listen well to other people and would consider input from other members of the club. I am willing to commit to this position and put in all the time needed to help the club run meetings smoothly and efficiently. I have learned a lot from the regionals and states leadership conference and I would like to implement that into improving the club. My vision is to help members become involved more easily be keeping events/deadlines organized & providing more fun opportunities to be active in. Shiv Rajesh (Secretary) Hello, my name is Shiv Rajesh and I am running for secretary of FBLA’s upcoming season. I am currently an upcoming senior and I feel that I portray the right kind of initiative needed to be successful at this office. The reason that I am running for secretary is because I had a fabulous time being part of Garnet Valley’s FBLA and I yearn to have a greater role within this club. The enjoyment and the experience that I acquired from state competition at Hershey were priceless, thus I believe everyone should be offered the same opportunity that I received. Also during my participation at Hershey, I saw the amounts of effort and the extents that other schools have gone for this club and I believe Garnet Valley could do the same. We have so much potential that can be tapped into if under the right kind of leadership -The kind of leadership that I wish to be a part of. I am reliable, responsible, and hardworking, the kind of person that gets a job done when it needs to be done and I am willing to put the extra hours and effort to make this club a success. This is why I am applying for FBLA’s secretary position. Amy Zhou (Secretary) Why would I like to be the secretary of our FBLA you ask? Well, there’s several reasons, such as the fact that I would like to play a larger contributing role in this club, beyond simply being a member, that I believe FBLA will be a key part of my and many others’ futures and I will do all I can to support it and make it better, and that I know by being an officer, I can help make this club bigger and more successful when we attend the regional and state leadership conferences, an accomplishment great not only for ourselves and the school, but for your college application as well (and that’s never a bad thing). Two birds (actually, three!) with one stone! To become an officer of FBLA next year, and hopefully for the years to come is a goal I have had in the back of my mind for quite a while now. But how that works out is not decided by me, but by the people who believe in my ability to help FBLA succeed and are willing to give me a chance to make that happen. Are you one of them? Rena Zhu (Secretary) I am applying for an officer position because I believe that Garnet Valley FBLA can do great things. All high school students have definitely been asked,‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ For some kids, their answer is that they want to work in the business world. FBLA is the first step in becoming a successful business man or woman. If I were elected an officer, my fellow officers and I could take Garnet Valley FBLA to a whole new level. Helping people realize their potential as a business leader would be an honor and something I would be very committed to. Caelean Butler (Treasurer) The reason I am running for 2012-2013 FBLA treasurer is because I want to expand the club and be able to input my ideas into the club. I think treasurer is a great position for me because I love mathematics and I am good with accounts. I always have free time during enhancement so that means I will be able to give at least 1 day a week to our club and if needed I could give more enhancement days to the club. I placed 4th place at regional’s, so I went to FBLA State conference with our school for Business Calculations. If I am selected I will make sure our money is in a safe place and also I will push for a lot of fundraising events so we can expand as a chapter. Edward Chen (Treasurer) Hi, I’m Edward Chen and I am applying for the office of treasurer. I believe I am capable of holding the office well and will surely complete any necessary task in order to benefit FBLA. The reason for why I am applying for an officer position is to purely just benefit the club. My enhancement schedules are not usually busy at all, so fitting all of the work as treasurer into my time will not be a problem at all. Additionally, I believe that I will definitely be able to benefit the club as treasurer and make sure everything is organized and accurate. Organization and accuracy will surely be advantages in any type of activity, and that is what I am perfectly willing to provide for FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America.
