The University of Delaware’s S&C Internship Program
is designed to be a mutually beneficial program for
both its participants development in the S&C field and
the University of Delaware’s S&C Department.

Interning with the University of Delaware S&C
Department will provide valuable Division I level
experience. Interns will be directly involved with, but
not limited to the day-to-day operation of the S&C
department, professional development curriculum,
learning, coaching and performing the technique of
our Olympic, Major and Auxiliary movements.

Functions include but are not limited to participating and assisting the
S&C coaching staff with the following:














Warm-up routines
Core Routines
Olympic lifts
Major Movements
Plyometric
Auxiliary Movements
Speed and Agility sessions
Conditioning sessions
Post Workout stretching and Mobility session
Weight room set-up and break-down
Weight room maintenance and cleaning
Administrative assignments
Professional Development Sessions and Assignments
Staff Training sessions

Criteria:
Applicants must :
 *Provide an updated Resume and Cover Letter (Letter of
Interest) prior to any of the application deadlines.
 Make Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance a
priority as their desired career
 Have the ability to teach, coach and perform various
strength movements
 Must have the availability to meet hour requirements
 Be willing to work either early mornings and/or evenings
 Be willing to learn to train & train to learn

Requirements:
 MUST be enrolled in the specific practicum course
in order to receive credits toward your practicum
 Must have availability to meet Credit Hour
Requirement
 Strongly recommended that Strength &
Conditioning, Sports Performance or closely
related fields are your primary career objectives
 Must meet all application deadlines
Fall Semester –



Cover Letter (Letter of Interest) & Resume must be submitted no later than TWO weeks prior the to
beginning of Fall semester.
Interviews will take place during the week before classes begin. Depending on physical proximity to campus
interviews may be in person or via phone.
First Day of Fall Semester - Fall Internship Begins
Winter Session

Cover Letter (Letter of Interest) & Resume must be submitted before you leave campus for Winter break.

Interviews will take place at the end of the Fall semester. Depending on physical proximity to campus
interviews may be in person or via phone.

First Day of Winter Session- Winter Internship Begins
Spring Semester

Cover Letter (Letter of Interest) & Resume must be submitted before you leave campus for Winter break.
The final deadline to send your information is January 1st.

Interviews will take place at the end of the Fall semester. Depending on physical proximity to campus
interview may be in person or via phone.

First Day of Spring Session- Winter Internship Begins
Summer Sessions (Both).

Cover Letter (Letter of Interest) & Resume must be submitted before you leave campus for Summer break.
The final deadline to send your information is TWO weeks prior to the beginning of the Summer Session I

Interviews will take place at the end of the Spring semester. Depending on physical proximity to campus
interview may be in person or via phone.

First Day of Summer Session I– Summer Internship Begins

Any UD or non-UD students may apply as a unpaid volunteer intern
for any semester.
 *Unpaid volunteer internship is an internship not for credit-hours or to fulfill
graduation requirements.

All Unpaid Volunteer Intern applicants must meet any and all
application deadlines and criteria.
