Temporary vacancy announcement
The Embassy of Sweden is looking for a qualified person to temporarily fill the
post of Cashier/Administrative assistant during the period 1 December 2014 –
15 August 2015.
Job description
Reporting to the Head of Chancery, the Cashier/Assistant is responsible for:
 Provide financial accounting services to the Embassy office in accordance
with the laws and regulation.
 Handle full sets of accounts for monthly, quarterly and yearly closing
activities and related matters.
 Assist Head of Chancery and the Promotion Officer in monitoring
expenditure against various budgets.
 Responsible for processing of payroll and related reports for submission
to relevant government authorities such as Employee Provident Fund,
SOCSO, Inland Revenue Board, etc.
 Maintain comprehensive accounting records. Retain hard copies of
accounts and associated vouchers in an orderly fashion to facilitate later
retrieval for audit or other official purposes.
 Control of the petty cash to ensure that there are sufficient funds at all
times.
 Preparing payments and booking verifications etc. in the Embassy’s
accounting system Agresso.
 Maintain locally employed staff personnel files and records, including
maintenance of leave and overtime claims in Palasso.
 Manage office routines and maintenance of practicalities related to the
office
 Helping with consular, human resource and administrative matters.
 Perform any other duties as and when required.

Required qualifications





Admission to University studies in economics, business administration or
other closely related fields.
Working experience in embassies, business or government agencies in
the fields of economics, business administration or similar field.
The ability to take initiatives, work independently as well as be part of a
team
Excellent communication skills in English in order to liaise with contacts
within Malaysia and Sweden.
Good computer skills and knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office
applications.
This is a full-time position.
