AP GOVERNMENT LESSON PLANS WEEK 1
Monday
HAND OUT OTA AS THE STUDENTS ENTER THE CLASS
Welcome
 HOMEWORK – Read and outline chapter 1(pages 3-14) – Outline is due Friday. Give the
example from chapter 1
 Define the first 16 terms to hand in at the same time as your outline. Have the students
copy all of the terms from the board. This is a separate assignment. It should be typed and
saved so that you can have a running list of terms to refer to throughout the year. (Many of
these terms may show up on both your outline and your definitions. DUE DATE - Friday
 Quiz on Chapter 1 reading assignment –. This will be a quiz on the reading assignment on
the class period after the outline is handed in. Students may use their outline for the quiz.
Both will be graded.
 Terms 17 – 30 on the list are due the first class period next week.
 Textbooks/Summer Assignment/– Call each student up to the desk to pick up their text
and Woll Reader. They should bring a pen to sign their name in both books. They will also
turn in their summer assignment at this time.
 Discuss Procedures – Students will be given a quiz at the conclusion of the discussion of
classroom procedures.
 Hand out Citizenship quiz info and explain. Quiz next class.


6. All assignments are to be written in complete sentences, on lined paper using every
other line. (exception is the outlines.)

 Hand in terms and definitions and your outline.
 Homework: Define the 2nd half of your list of terms (#17 – 30)
 Quiz on chapter 1 using your outline will be next class.
 Set up…The Band (The Beatles)
 Hand out: John Locke’s 2nd treaties of civil government and
Rousseau’s The Social Contract. (Have the students read their part of
their assignment and answer the questions for their section. We will put
the band together after the quiz next class.)
