Erasmus Impact Study 2014 • “Effects of mobility on the skills and employability of students and the internationalisation of higher education institutions” • A large survey by European Comission • feedback from nearly 80 000 respondents including students and businesses. • confirms – EU student exchange scheme boosts employability and job mobility – Young people who study or train abroad not only gain knowledge in specific disciplines, but also strengthen key transversal skills which are highly valued by employers. You will most likely get the place what you want in first place. • No tuition fees • Same academic calender with Finland, exchange period easy to organise • Accommodation usually arranged by the host university • Excellent and good quality tuition in English in most of the Nordic universities. • Yes, there are enough differences in Sweden/Norway/Denmark/Island compared to Finland to make your exchange interesting! Note to check the academic calender of the destination! Always check the application info per destination! • • • • Any good hints from professors and teaching staff? Read exchange raports, also from other destinations than just the main interest Get to known the international students here at Aalto University (international tutor, AYY and guild activities…) In general, applying is rather independent process and requires tolerance for uncertanity… How to apply? 1. Choose your destination/-s 2. Choose the courses per destination, make a study plan per destination 3. Get the study plans accepted by the study planning officer and professor 4. Get the other application documents: - language certificate/-s - transcript of records - ect. 5.
