Athletic Trainer, Kimery Duda, The Expedition School
a. Park locations – 8am – 8pm, & 12pm-5pm Friday & Sat; Sun 8am-6pm
b. Emergency service procedures
Jen Goodwin, Tournament Protocol and Rules
a. Warm-up and practice areas
b. Home team, Line-up and dugout
c. Format for bracket placement
a. Teams will be placed into brackets based first on their win/loss record in pool play,
then runs allowed, followed by runs scored.
b. If a tie-breaker is needed for seeding, a coin flip will be the deciding factor.
c. The teams will then play two games within their respective bracket to determine an
overall winner of each division.
f. Inclement weather protocol
If bad weather approaches we will get as many games in as possible.
Twitter & Website will be our way to communicate schedule changes.
g. Pickup players – we want to play games. If you are down a player, please communicate
this – many players are available to fill in if needed, and there are not conflicts, this is allowed.
h. The brackets will be available as soon as possible when pool play is complete. We allow the
break between pool play and bracket play so we can post in a timely manner. The best place to
see the pool placement is online. Try to shield Jamie while filling out scores as teams will
hover around.
i. Communication with college coaches – please inform your parents to stay out of the college
only seating areas. Many of the coaches are here for 10+ hour days, so we tried to get them in
the shade and away from the fray. There are places to put the team rosters (packets hung) so
the coaches can focus on the game and recruit. Please allow them this space.
j. Round Rock Express – minor league team - $9/ticket for Saturday night game. Check your
schedule and bracket possibilities – order online.
i. Tournament Rules (see next page)
k. All-Tournament Team – top teams from each bracket name two players.
l. Evaluation – will be emailed after tournament for your feedback.
SCORE REPORTING
HOME TEAM is official book. It is the home team’s responsibility to report the scores to Michelle
at Gold Glove, and Hildred at Hall of Fame. If your game’s score is not reported, your team’s seeding will
be in jeopardy. After your game’s completion, you must find Hildred or Michelle (point out). Since each
score helps determine seeding – be sure it’s been reported and you agree with the final score. Scoreboard
operators are sparse, so
Rules - 2012 ASA
Exception: Illegal pitches will be called but the penalty will NOT be enforced.

Free substitutions allowed for POOL Play only. Once bracket play starts, all regulation rules are in
effect.
Run Rule - 8 after 5
ITB - starts in the 8th inning
Time limit: 1 hr 30 minute - Drop dead, finish the batter.
If a game is completed by run rule or 7 innings . . . and TIME still remains on the clock, PLAY ON
until time expires. But only if both coaches agree.
The final score before "free play" will be recorded. Both coaches have to agree to play on.
A game can end in a tie.
Game time starts at the conclusion of the pre-game meeting.
Flip for HOME team.
HOME team will be the official book and must report score to NFCA Complex Rep.
Game balls furnished by NFCA. Return balls to scorer's table after each game.
No PROTESTS. Settle all issues on the field.
No STALLING. This is an exposure tournament – if teams are stalling they are taking opportunities
away from their student-athletes.
Pre-Game: There will be a mandatory pre-game warm up prior to each game with on field skills being
showcased. This information was distributed prior to your arrival in order to allow each team time to
prepare. It gives a little more exposure for your players – the college coaches LOVED it in the fall. A copy is
enclosed. For example – if your game time is 10am, the pre-game will start at 10am on the dot, and the
home plate meeting will happen after complete. Game will technically start at 10 past the hour. This is only
for POOL PLAY. Bracket play you have the extra 10 minutes to play the game.
TIME LIMITS/PREGAME ROUTINE:
5 minutes per team – start at GAME TIME. USE bull horn, give one minute warning.
Pool Play Game Times: Pool Play games will be 1 hour 30 minutes, with no new inning starting until after
time expires. After 7 innings, and score is tied, go to the international tie breaker if time permits.
Bracket Games: No pre game routine – the extra 10 minutes are for game time – so the time limit is 1 hour
40 minutes for bracket games.
