Terms and Conditions A Background of the Eurasian Association The Eurasian Association [EA] became a Self-Help Group in 1994, achieving IPC status. Our key pillars are Education and Family Support Services, while Community Engagement continues to play a role in reaching out to more Eurasians in Singapore. With funding from reputed organizations and foundations, the EA is able to render financial assistance to more students from lower-income families, under our Education Schemes. B Eligibility Criteria (1) Applicants must be a Singapore Citizen. (2) Applicants must be Eurasian. Definition: 2.1 At least one parent is Eurasian (as indicated on the NRIC) (either father or mother). 2.2 One European parent and one Asian parent. (3) Income criteria: Refer to Table 1 above for the respective Gross Household Income (GHI) and Per Capita Income (PCI) (i.e. total GHI divided by the number of persons staying in the household) of each education scheme. (4) Involvement in CCA, leadership roles and/or community service will be taken into consideration. (5) Previous and/or current involvement in EA events and activities will be an added advantage. (6) Some schemes are based mainly on Academic merit, CCA involvement and volunteerism, while family background and income will still be taken into consideration. C Terms and Conditions (1) EA Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships are applicable to Eurasian students studying full-time in local schools, not including part-time studies and not including private and overseas institutions. (2) Local schools include Primary and Secondary schools, ITEs, NAFA & La Salle, the 5 Polytechnics (Ngee Ann Polytechnic [NP], Nanyang Polytechnic [NYP], Republic Polytechnic [RP], Singapore Polytechnic [SP] and Temasek Polytechnic [TP]), and the 6 local Universities (NUS, NTU, SMU, UniSIM, SIT, SUTD). (3) Candidates will be interviewed by an Education Selection Panel constituted by the Eurasian Association. The decision made by the Panel is final. Selection of candidates will be competitive and based on academic merit as well as the financial position of the families. (4) Selected students will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per year in EA events and activities, to help in our key pillars of education, family support services and community engagement. (5) Successful recipients will be required to submit their academic results at the end of each year or final exam. For education scheme No. 5, 6, and 7: (6) Continuation of funding will be dependent on each academic year’s final exam results. Should a student fail an academic year, the Education Committee reserves the right to amend or terminate the bursary. Should a student withdraw from the course, he or she will be required to pay back the amount to the Eurasian Association. D Application Procedures (1) Students need to obtain, complete and submit an application form with the necessary documents if they wish to apply for any of the EA Education Schemes 2016. (2) Application Forms can be obtained from the EA Secretariat office (139 Ceylon Road, Singapore 429744, Level 3), or via EA website. Copies of the form are accepted. (3) Application Forms must be duly completed and submitted together with copies of the following documents: (i) Applicant’s Birth Certificate and NRIC / bus concession card (ii) Applicants academic results from the previous year’s final exam (iii) Applicant’s recent photo (a photocopy of the NRIC or bus pass is sufficient) (iv) NRIC of both parents (v) NRIC and Birth Certificate of all members staying in the household. (vi) Salary Slip AND CPF Contribution History of ALL working adults in the household.
