For e.g. The Fundamentals of Production Planning and Control will fall under technology category. TS5176.C454 2006 • TS5176 is sub category, C454 provides author information and 2006 provided publication date. • The classification chart can be found in the Library, displayed on the side wall of book stacks. Another chart on the same wall correlates the shelves to the categories making it easy to locate material. • The classification chart can be found online at CalUMS.edu under general holdings in the Library. For Students • • Books can be checked out using student ID and book’s barcode. In absence of librarian, the student ID number and barcode can be left on librarian’s desk or emailed to her. For Faculty • To request a book for your course, email the librarian. • Instructor’s copies and exam copies are in Faculty lounge. • Books are checked out to instructors on Faculty ID. • Books can be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed for another 2 weeks. • All the books should be returned to the library after the quarter is done. • Reference books cannot be checked out. • You can recommend reference books for your courses. INFOTRAC – Database of custom 250 journals. anah_log Password - Google Scholar List of websites available on Library homepage on CALUMS website under research resources. • Go to https://secure.coursesmart.com/createaccount • Register as an instructor with CALUMS email ID. • Once registered, you can read, download and print hundreds of textbooks for free from various publishers. • Order exam copies. • Use the online reference material OCW Resources, tools and practices that employ a framework of open sharing to improve educational access and effectiveness worldwide. Go to http://www.oeconsortium.org/courses/ Click on Resources and choose open textbooks from the dropdown menu. 25516 courses from 80 providers. MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) is a web-based publication of virtually all MIT course content. OCW is open and available to the world and is a permanent MIT activity. http://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm 2150 courses published in 2012. Courses are for undergraduate and graduate level . Each course contains the lecture notes, projects, assignments, exams and solutions. Great opportunity for self learners, students, instructors. • Copyright is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and granted by law for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression.
