• 1979 - FEMA was organized
• 1980 - Moved CDSC to FEMA
and the site of former
St. Joseph’s College in
Emmitsburg, MD
• 2003 - FEMA became part of the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS)
• 2007 - EMI became part of FEMA’s National
Preparedness Directorate (NPD)
