If any violation occurs, the following steps will be taken. ***There are no WARNINGS. The warning is written here and being read aloud to students. Follow rules. *Swearing or cheating is an instant referral!!!! offense- Detention, written behavior correction plan 2nd offense- Administrative Referral 1st Subsequent Violations- Referral Grading Grading is done on a percentage basis. This insures that equal weight is placed on all coursework, and not simply the assignments with a high point value. 90-100 80-89 70-79 60-69 59 and Below A B C D F Semester grades will be divided as 40% for the first quarter, 40% for the second quarter, and 20% for the final test. Grades do not start over after the quarter. PHS is dedicated to incorporating the Arizona Common Core Standards into the curriculum and increasing the rigor of our instruction. Homework Students can expect homework three times per week. No late work is accepted, unless there is an excused absence. The student will then have the corresponding number of days to turn in the missed work. The homework is concentrated in the area of studying, as busy work is not relevant. Students will have assignments to read, ideas to interpret, and must come up with questions of their own. I like to challenge the intellect, and not simply give X number of hours of homework.
