Sutton Trust Report • The proportion of people of working age in Britain with a postgraduate qualification has climbed rapidly: from 4% in 1996 to 11% in 2012 • The study found that a postgraduate degree remained linked to higher earnings: worth on average £5,500 per year more than someone with only an undergraduate degree. Further Postgraduate Study • 23% of English grads do PG study after graduation • Research MA/MPhil 1 to 2 years – often part-time • PhD – 3 years. Must do an MA first.
