SELECTION PROCESS AT 1. Application phase Once an individual has decided to apply for a career with KPMG, he/she can apply online. The candidate will receive a confirmation on submission of the application. The company will then review the application and decide whether the candidate’s individual skills, experience and qualifications match their requirements. 2. Psychometric assessments If the application is successful the candidate is invited to take their abilities assessment and personality questionnaire. The abilities assessment involves a verbal and a numerical reasoning test. These two online tests will take approximately 45 minutes to complete and are taken at home. At the same time the candidate takes the abilities tests, he’ll be asked to take the personality questionnaire which will be used to assess personality traits that are indicative of the style with which the individual approaches his work. This online questionnaire will consist of a number of true or false questions. The questionnaire takes about 45 minutes to complete. No advance preparation is required for any of these assessments, although both the abilities assessment and personality questionnaire has to be completed within 24 hours. 3. Final stage - information session, written exercise, verification test and interviews The final stage of the selection process is a half-day assessment centre where the candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate his talents in a friendly and relaxed environment. Where he will hear from recent graduates, find out more about the benefits of working at KPMG and have the opportunity to ask any questions he has about the process and programs. The written exercise is a 30-minute task that gives the opportunity to demonstrate written communication skills. There will also be two one-toone behavioral-based interviews with a partner, director or senior manager from the business group. These interviews will last approximately 40 minutes each and allow them to find out more about the candidate, and for the candidate to ask questions about KPMG. The interviewer will ask questions about their personal background, extracurricular activities and any work experience the candidate has acquired. The candidate is also asked to undertake a verification test of the abilities tests that was completed at home. This helps us to ensure that the original test taken was a true measure of the candidate’s skills. 4. Our offer If the candidate is successful at the final stage of the process he’ll be contacted by KPMG and a written offer of employment will be forwarded to him. If there are any questions about the offer, or about working at KPMG, then the candidate is encouraged to talk to the Graduate Recruitment team.
