Nature and scope
The role of the job holder is to contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance and
support of CIPD’s websites and web applications with a focus on front-end development.
You’ll have core design and UI/UX experience as well as more general technical .NET web
development skills. You’ll be a creative problem-solver, keen to enhance the functionality
and user experience of our websites and web applications.
This is a particularly exciting time as we’re working with a number of external developers in
order to develop the website and extend the use of our web content management platform,
Tridion, throughout the business. You’ll have the opportunity not only to get involved with
development projects but also to drive the website and use of Tridion forward beyond this
externally-supported development stage.
You’ll play an active role within web projects from initial requirements through to successful
delivery, and will develop a thorough understanding of our audience and our overall
strategy. You’ll work closely with ISS project managers, internal colleagues with web
responsibilities and external developers. In particular, utilising your HTML, CSS and
JavaScript expertise, you’ll bridge the gap between back-end developers and creative design
teams to produce and maintain visually attractive cross-platform websites and web
applications.
