As a Research and Compensation Specialist, you will focus on a growing part of our business and an area of HR that is undergoing change and transformation. You probably already know that this area of HR is part science, part art, and that’s what makes it fun and interesting. One day you might be working with a small professional service firm with 20 employees that needs help determining its compensation philosophy and basic structure and the next day you will be working on a total compensation assessment for a company with 200+ employees. Another day you might be sifting through survey data and creating customized survey reports. Here’s what we have: Variety. Just because you love data and analysis doesn’t mean you don’t love working with people, too. Real-world compensation analysis experience. You have an understanding of how to use and apply market pay surveys and data. Spreadsheets and charts charge your batteries. You probably have some tools and models you’ve developed to interpret and analyze data. Appreciation for working independently when needed and a high sense of responsibility and responsiveness. You seek out input from co-workers to bounce off ideas and work through challenges. You love to learn and seek out opportunities to improve what we do and how we do it to make sure we continue to deliver top-notch services. When people might not know what questions to ask, or what to do you’re more than happy to let them lean on you for guidance. The ability to deliver a Member experience that leaves them feeling supported and confident. Responsibilities of our Research and Compensation Specialist include: Develops, manages and administers Cascade’s regional and national market pay and benefits surveys and regularly promotes survey participation. Screens and edits survey data from participants to assure accuracy, completeness, and validity. Manages established survey schedules to ensure on-time deployment and distribution of survey reports. Under limited supervision, performs pay assessment consulting services to help members determine the competitiveness of their pay practices and support continuing alignment with their mission and goals. Utilizing various sources, develops market based pay structures, summarizing relationships between organization and market pay practices. Responds to requests for information, support, guidance, tools and/or resources for various aspects of HR including compliance, employee relations, performance management, and policy review and development. Develops and maintains business relationships with member and non-member companies to maximize the level and quality of service delivered. Promotes Association membership to non-members as appropriate. Continual collaboration with our team to make sure we exceed the expectations of our Members and each other. Actively contributes to current methods of knowledge development for members and non-members on pay and benefit surveys, compensation trends and HR related information including writing articles and alerts, blogs, developing and if necessary delivering webinars, social media content, digital updates and other trainings if needed. Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on, statistics, research, business management or other similar field. Typically requires at least two years of experience as a compensation analyst or similar position, which included compensation related duties. One to two years of HR Generalist experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication (both verbal and written) are required in order to work effectively with all levels in an organization and in a variety of industries. Attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple on-going projects are required to assure service and product credibility and quality. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred, but not required. CCP desired. As the primary data analysis tool, you must be highly proficient in Excel. You must also be highly proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
