Country Research Project – 5th Grade
Your job is to research a country from North America (you may not choose the United States), Latin America, or Europe.
You will be exploring many different aspects of your country, including the history, the geography, the culture, the
economy, the climate, and other interesting facts. After researching your country you will write a report.
** Your final copy is due on Friday, November 7 th.
** There will be several check points. As you finished with each stage, get a parent and Ms. Liu to sign off on it. Do not
procrastinate. Try to finish a day or two before the deadline.

THE PROCESS
1. Choose a country. Get it approved by Ms. Liu by October 3 rd.
2. Begin your research. Take all of your notes in your writing composition book. Your research must be completed by
October 17th.
3. Use the research checklist to guide you in your project.
4. After completing your research you will write a research paper.
Your paper should be:
5 to 8 paragraphs long.

Double Spaced
Written in a 12-point font.
RESEARCH CHECKLIST
