Scooby Doo! Howling on the Playground: Reader’s Theatre Scooby Doo, Shaggy and the gang are building a playground. Shaggy: Oops, Scooby! I almost nailed you! Edna Spring: Stop all this noise! What is going on here? Drew Zooka: We are building a playground. Edna Spring: Playgrounds are noisy! I don’t want one here. I’ll find a way to stop it. Or my name is not Edna Spring. Next morning, the gang comes back to work. Drew Zooka: We’re not letting Edna Spring stop us! We need to start on the sandbox. Shaggy: Did someone say lunch box? Let’s take a lunch break, Scooby. Drew Zooka: Lunch? But it’s nine o’clock. And we have work to do! Edna Spring: No, you don’t! I’d stop building if I were you! Drew Zooka: I know, I know. You don’t want a playground here. Edna Spring: That’s not it. Werewolves are haunting this place. I heard howling all night long. This is not the place for a playground. Daphne: Werewolves? Fred: This sounds like a case for Mystery, Inc.! Velma: There is one way to find out about these werewolves. Fred: There’s a full moon tonight. Velma: We’ll stay in the park tonight. And see if any werewolves come. That night in the park: Shaggy: There’s nothing going on here! Scoob, let’s grab a late night snack and go home! Scooby Doo: Reah! Velma: Not so fast! Daphne: Would you stay for a Scooby Snack? Shaggy and Scooby gulp down the snacks. Shaggy: Still hungry! Time to go! Howl: Awhooo! Shaggy: Is that your stomach grumbling, good buddy? Scooby: Rope! Shaggy: Then it’s the werewolves! Like I’ve had enough playtime at this playground! Howl: Awhooo! Scooby: Rerewolf! Scooby and Shaggy run. They race around the swings. One of the swings hits Shaggy in the head. Shaggy: Ouch! Howl: Aaa—ooooooh! Shaggy and Scooby can’t get away! Velma: Scooby! Shaggy! Stop playing around! Shaggy: Velma! Help! Scooby: Relp! Shaggy and Scooby decide to jump on a pile of sandbags. Shaggy: We can jump onto those sandbags! Scooby: Rone, Too, Ree. Shaggy: Jump! Howl: Aaa Roooo! Shaggy: Like it’s the werewolf again! Scooby shakes his head. It isn’t a werewolf. Scooby: Ruppies! Shaggy: Puppies? Well, okay Scoob. You found some puppies. But what about those werewolves? Velma: Those puppies are the werewolves. Fred: Don’t you see? They are howling because they are cold and hungry. Edna Spring: More noise! Drew Zooka: Yes. I came to check on things here. What’s going on? Velma: Scooby found the werewolves. Daphne: But they’re only puppies! Edna Spring: Puppies! How sweet! Scooby: Redna’s puppies. Velma: Great idea! Fred: Edna, would you like to give these puppies a home? Edna Spring: Would I ever! And you know what? A playground is a great place for puppies to play! I’m going to name the puppies Daphne, Fred, Velma, and Shaggy. Velma: Not Scooby? Edna Spring: There’s only one Scooby-Doo! Scooby: Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
