American Constructors, Inc. is requesting pricing for the new construction of the proposed M-TEK Testing Facility based on the drawings and specifications dated May 9, 2014 by Fuqua & Partners Architects and Engineered Solutions,
Inc. both from Huntsville, Alabama.
Project Description:
The project involves construction of a new 26,431 SF testing facility which includes the work of site clearing and grubbing, grading and excavation, site utilities, concrete pavement and sidewalks, fencing, asphalt paving, micro piles, concrete foundations and slab-on-grade, interior/exterior CMU masonry, pre-engineered metal building system including frame, exterior metal siding, and roofing, pipe and tube railings, carpentry, plastic laminate casework and tops, solid surface window sills, under-slab drainage and waterproofing, building insulation, caulking, steel doors and frames, wood doors overhead coiling door, aluminum windows and storefront, finish hardware, metal stud framing and drywall, ceramic tile, ACT ceilings, resilient flooring and carpet tile, painting, toilet compartments, accessories, fire extinguishers, plumbing, HVAC, fire suppression and electrical systems.
All questions for the architect must be submitted in writing to John (email or fax) no later than the end of the day, Thursday, May 22, 2014.

We are seeking an Estimator for our Commercial / Multi-Family Division. The Estimator will work with the
Purchasing and Construction teams to prepare cost estimates for all multi-family operations.
Primary Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain material takeoffs and cost estimates for each project;

Create and maintain drawing logs during estimating phases;

Work with owner and director of construction to create conceptual estimates;

Review plans and create bid packages for sub-contractors;

Qualify sub-contractor bids during bidding process;

Create budgets from take-offs and sub-contractor bids.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial and Multi-Family Construction;

Experience with Estimating Software preferred;

Prolog Project Management Software;

Knowledge of Building Codes, Building Materials, Labor Costs and other construction related activities;

Ability to understand the purchasing process including: Takeoffs, Estimating, and Budgets;

Strong Computer Skills and current knowledge of new technology including experience with estimating software, strong Excel skills a must;

Strong Attention to Details with an interest in minimizing errors and problem solving;
 Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred;

Excellent Communication Skills, both oral and written;

Excellent Interpersonal Skills, including ability to understand customer needs and relate them to the construction process.
