After 3-4 minutes DeCecco will discuss the Cartoon and the students answers. He will then explain that the students will be working at stations today. The first station will be on P.C.’s. When the students are at that station they will analyze one P.C. with Cole and then they will complete one by themselves and hand it in. Cole will then discuss the 2nd and 3rd station. Cole will show how the buzzer works and an example of what the drawing/list/ paragraph should look like. Cole will break the students into 3 groups (groups 1 and 3 are higher level and group 2 is lower level.) Each group will visit each station twice between both days. Daley will assist the students as they analyze the P.C. as a class and as the students break up into groups. DeCecco will work at the 3rd station. Students there will be given a list of topics and time periods that have been Cole will work the 1st station. Students will pick one and can either draw a picture, make a list or write a paragraph describing the major events, themes, people and vocabulary related to the topic. Next students will each get their own P.C. and will analyze and answer on their own. This P.C. will be handed in. another room. Practice questions will be presented on the board using the Elmo and will be read by Daley. Students will then buzz in and give their answer. Daley will keep a record of each groups scores. ADAPTATIONS or UDL connections A list of topics will be provided and will be read off before beginning. The two higher level groups will need 7-8 details (events, themes, people, vocab). The lower level group will need 5-6 details. (Tiered by Product) There will be different P.C.’s for the higher level groups and the lower level group. (Tiered by Resource) The SmartBoard will be available for anyone in the group to use as they analyze P.C.’s. Students may take notes on it, or highlight/circle specific portions. The use of technology will help keep students engaged. Questions are leveled. (Tiered by Resource) The questions will be available to read using the Elmo and will be read aloud. The buzzer will allow students to incorporate movement while they are answering the questions and help to keep them more engaged. CLOSURE: DeCecco will ask students from his group to share one of their products. Pictures, lists and paragraphs will be displayed around the room as a continual review until the exam. Cole will bring the students back as a class by ringing a bell. Daley will bring her students back to the classroom. DeCecco will grade his stations products.
