(o te ao) I sing to Mary, our mother, the one who heard God's call

A Cross of Stars
Across these great lands she brought the
Good News
With courage and love in her heart,
That faith and hope and love may live
Beneath a cross of stars, beneath a cross
of stars
Early in life she heard God’s call,
the call of Christ to stand with the poor,
to serve like Joseph to serve in deed
to teach, to love, to answer a need.
Gospel Reading - 6th Sunday ordinary time…
Gospel – Matt 5:17-37
All you need to do is say ‘yes’ if you
mean yes and ‘no’ if you mean no.
Reader- The Gospel of the Lord
All : Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Justice
Signs of a just person….
• Loving the person regardless of the actions
they may take.
• Not taking sides
• Not thinking that one person’s right are
‘better’ or more deserving over another
person’s rights
• both sides are treated with love and dignity.
Justice
Treating people with justice is not the same
as treating people equally….
JUSTICE AND EQUALITY ARE NOT THE
SAME THING
St Mary of the Cross
MacKillop
• she loved children,
• she loved justice and
• she loved God.

God, Our Father, we praise you for your
greatness.
We thank you for calling us to be your
sons and daughters.
Let your light shine on us so that we may
see and understand your gospel values
and grow in Faith, Hope and love.
Through the intercession of St Mary of
the Cross MacKillop and St Patrick, let us
not be afraid to speak out for what is
right, and let our learning be guided by
your Holy Spirit so that all in our school
will be empowered today for tomorrow’s
world, wherever that may take us.
We make this prayer through Christ Our
Lord
Amen
Justice and Freedom
Justice (justice), freedom (freedom), honour (honour),
dignity (dignity).
Justice (justice), freedom (freedom), honour (honour),
dignity (dignity).
Justice and freedom, honour and dignity,
All of God’s people are born to be free.
Justice and freedom, honour and dignity,
Hope for the world is depending on you,
You and me.
The hungry at our door,
The families torn by war,
The lonely we ignore,
What did Jesus say?
