Strategies to enhance Crop production
•
Area expansion through diversification of low yielding cereals crops into oilseeds crops in Districts like
Panchmahal, Dahod, Patan, Banaskantha, Tapi etc.
• Special focus on low productivity of food grains crops in rain fed areas.
• District and Taluka wise crop planning and cluster approach to enhance crop productivity
• Focus on production of pulse by utilization of fallow rice beds and intercropping with coarse cereals, oilseeds and commercial crops (sugarcane, cotton).
• Best practices adopted in Micro Irrigation and Mulching .
•
Increase use of Farm Mechanization, Gypsum & Micronutrients .
• Area specific Promotion and extension of improved technologies.
Soil health card based fertilizer application
Distributed 42.39 lalkh SHCs in 1 st phase
22.44 lakhs SHCs in 2 nd phase (2012-13 to 2013-14)

Krushi Vikas Year (14-15) celebration
Block wise Rabi Krushi Mahotsav.
Agro climatic Zone wise Agricultural Exhibition.
2.5 Lakh Ha coverage target under Micro Irrigation System through
GGRC.
Intensive Water Conservation activities w.r.t construction of Check
Dam, Farm ponds etc.
Target of 100000 farm ponds during the year.
9
Farm Mechanization
Rs. 100 cr project for Farm Mechanization
State has adopted empanelment procedure for farm mechanization components
Empanelment procedure provides: o Equal price across the state o Quality Standard Maintained by Producers o Competitive Rates o Transparency and awareness for farmers o Subsidy transfer by NEFT/ RTGS in Bank A/C of
Farmer
10
Use of micro nutrients has increased in deficit areas
Adoption of farm mechanization increased
Varietal replacement rate as well as Seed
Replacement Rate is increased i.e. RICE –GAR 13, GAR-1,2,3, GNR-3 and 4, NAUR-1
PULSE (Tur)- Vaishali, GT-103, GJP- 1
PULSE (Moong)- Meha and Gujarat 4, GBM-1,
PULSE (Gram)- Guj 2 and Guj Gram 3
WHEAT –GW 366 , GDW 1255, GW 11
Pre season arrangement of inputs through State seed Corporation and Gujarat Agro Industries
Corporation
Implementation of schemes in cluster approach
Ikisan portal for quick and transparent delivery of assistance
Timely adoption of plant protection measures
Increased use of on farm resources and low cost inputs like bio fertilizers, organic manures, crop residue management, vermi compost etc
Use of water saving devices and micro irrigation systems
Farmers learned to adopt INM and IPM
