Chemistry Week 1-1: Laboratory Management Lesson Synopsis: This week’s lessons are designed to: Give students an overview of safety issues, policies and procedures, Focus on organizational tools that will enable students to be successful, Review the scientific method and demonstrate their ability to conduct controlled experiments. Key Concepts: Science is a process of observation and investigation through which information about the natural world is learned. Scientists us the scientific method to answer questions about the natural world. Safety is a priority in the classroom, especially when doing lab activities. The meanings of many scientific vocabulary words help students to understand questions and concepts taught.
