1875 May 18 Notice is hereby given that the subscribers David Elder House Agent Dundee intends to slap & alter that Shop No 107 Overgate Dundee & flat above belonging to him all as shewn on and Conform, to Plans lodged in the hands of the Clerk of the Guild Court of Dundee and that unless interdicted by any of the conterminous Proprietors the operations will be proceeded with within three days from this date. David Elder 18th May 1875 These do Certify that I James McDonald Dean of Guild officer Dundee Lawfully Intimated a true Copy of the above notice to each of Thomas Buchan Auctioneer & Valuator Dundee, William Mackison Burgh surveyor Dundee and James Allan Convener Town Property Committee Dundee by putting with my own hand a Copy into the Post Office Dundee prepaid addressed to the above named persons respectively upon the eighteenth day of May Eighteen hundred & seventy five years. James McDonald Dean of Guild officer Dundee 18th June 1875 The Dean of Guild having visited the subjects mentioned and the objections for Thomas Buchan a conterminous proprietor having being withdrawn in consequence of an amendment now made on the Plan aftermentioned & there being no objections for any other party lodged. Grants Warrant to the within designed David Elder to slap & alter that Shop No 107 Overgate Dundee & flat above belonging to him Conform to Plans produced and subscribed by the Clerk of the Guild Court on the eighteenth day of May Eighteen hundred and seventy five. Further allows the said David Elder the use of a portion of the Overgate street immediately opposite to and along the front of said Shop to the extent of five feet in breadth measuring from the street line of the said Shop and also the use of a portion of the Sea Wynd bounding said premises on the east to the extent of two feet in breadth measuring from the street or boundary line of said premises for the purpose of laying such materials as may be required in carrying through said operations. But appoints them for the safety of the Lieges to enclose said space with a close wooden Paling of sufficient height and properly Lighted with gas from sun set till sun rise until said operations shall have been completed, and the said paling removed. As also for the safety of the passengers to construct a Platform or Foot Walk of three feet six inches in width in the Nethergate to be laid with planks three inches thick or flags outside of said paling, with a suitable Hand Rail) all to the satisfaction of Mr William Mackison Town Surveyor Dundee James Luke D.G. 24 Bank Street Dundee 19th May 1875 D.
