What do you know about animals and their homes?

It’s important to know the different types of homes that animals live in because not all animals live in the same type of home. You and your group are in charge of creating a habitat for the new town zoo.

Your job is to find out where they live, how they look, what they eat, and what other animals they can live with so we can better understand their lives and make the zoo successful!

T

ASK

 Your assignment is to pretend the class is the town, and present the town your own creation of your habitat for your animal.

 You will work in groups to help each other find the information about the animal you are assigned and the home they live in.

 You will use this information to create a visual of the habitat to show your classmates, and convince the town that your animal should be in the new zoo.

P

ROCESS

 Meet the teacher for group assignment and habitat/animal choice.

 Pick up a copy of the

Record Activity Sheet that will help you record the facts about your animal.

 Complete the sheet using the links provided for you.

 Use the links that are given to you and search for information to help you create your visual.

 Create a poster, model, or other type of visual of your animal and it’s habitat.

 Present your project to the town (your classmates) and explain to them your animal, the habitat, and why it should be in the zoo.
